A LONGITUDINAL, PATIENT-CENTRED INTEGRATED CURRICULUM:

FACILITATING COMMUNITY-BASED EDUCATION IN A RURAL CLINICAL SCHOOL

Education for Primary Care 14(1):p 92, February 2003.

Navel-gazing is the theme of this quarter. What makes a good doctor, and how can we identify a bad one? Are we all burned out, and do we work in a responsive, well-resourced sector? The British Medical Journal issue about being a good doctor is a required read for many of us, and was one I actually kept by my bedside (until I spilt Earl Grey tea on it). There are warning signs that all is not well in the state of the NHS: trouble is that many of us are too busy to be able to sort it out. I must rush now, I have a two o’clock surgery.
