A. Paul Hare is professor of sociology (emeritus) at the Department of Behavioral Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Be'er Sheva, Israel. He published his first article, on friendship, in the journal Sociometry (1948) and has since written or edited, alone or with others, some 25 books and 100 articles and chapters dealing with groups. They include the Handbook of Small Group Research (1976), Creativity in Small Groups (1982), Small Group Research: A Handbook (1994, with H. H. Blumberg, M. F. Davies, and M. V. Kent), and J. L. Moreno (1996, with J. R. Hare).
