Both authors were members of the Research Team of the largest study of Clinical Supervision in nursing yet conducted, the Clinical Supervision Evaluation Project (CSEP) (Butterworth et al 1998), and this monograph intentionally draws largely from that experience.

Julie Winstanley and Edward White examine clinical supervision, which is increasingly being used as part of clinical governance in various countries around the world. Originally published as a monograph by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses (and appearing here with the college's kind permission), this edited version of the original paper also discusses the scope for evaluation in this approach
